About this site
The new design
The redesign opens new windows into the Brown experience for our diverse audiences. You can discover more about the University’s academic excellence, the latest research from our faculty, and news and stories about the dynamic people who make up the Brown community.
Brown’s home page and directories have a new architecture and navigation system to make it easier for you to find the information you want. Nearly 60 departmental sites also have a new look and feel and updated content.
Three new directory pages offer easy access to Academic Life, Administrative Offices, and the traditional A to Z list. A filtering system will help you find your way by category or alphabetical listing.
Technology and accessibility
You will not need third-party plug-ins or proprietary technology to surf the new home page, directories and departmental sites. All of these pages are accessible, compliant with the World Wide Web Consortium’s accessibility guidelines and with the federal government’s Section 508 Web accessibility standards. If you encounter any accessibility problems in navigating the pages please contact us with a description of the problem. We will make every effort to solve it.
Design team
Public Affairs and University Relations and our creative partner, Pentagram Inc., of New York, developed these new pages. Throughout the process, we received ideas, comments, and constructive critiques from faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents and others that made the site better. Now that the new pages are up, we look forward to your feedback. Please tell us what you think.
